Insert Table

Is there a tool in Active Inspire to insert a table or do we have to cut and past from Microsoft Word?

I've heard there's a table creation capability coming. Out of curiosity, just now I tried to paste a simple table I created in Word, and nothing pasted into the flipchart page. I then typed a word in the Word doc, copied it, and it pasted into the flipchart page without a problem, so AI has issues accepting tables at the present.

I noticed several postings about tables scattered throughout the forum, but did not see anyone mentioning the need to set the width to the cell borders in Word. I create tables in Word with a width of 1pt (using the Grid setting) and copy them without a problem into Inspire. Of course, they are just a picture, not a real table, so if you want to add datga in Inspire, you need to align the data to fit the table.

Looking forward to a real table object ...

You might find this approach of some use.

The attached flipchart shows how to create a 'table cell' that you can use to build very flexible, simulated tables which offer:

- cell editing
- cell formatting / word wrap
- drag/drop for other objects into table cells

I love this idea, I put a copy of your table cell into my resources and use it a lot. I have one question though, I tried to make a cell myself, and everything goes great until I try to put an object into the cell. If I then try to take the object out, it has automatically grouped the object into the cell. I can't pull it out without ungrouping the whole cell. I am sure there is something simple that I am missing.

Tricky to diagnose without seeing what you've done. Can you perhaps attach a flip with your cell in it?

I am sure I just missed something in the instructions, but for the life of me I can't figure out what. Here is my attempt. On the surface it looks just fine, but when i add an object it automatically groups it with the cell, instead of cell just containing it.

I like that one, and I will definitely show it to my customers, but unfortunately it does not suit my needs.
