Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a flipchart created with AS2 in AS1 - I have a colleague who is going to teach a lesson at a school who still run AS1 and she will be preparing using AS2. I know AS1 flipcharts open in AS2 but does it work the other way?
This is kind of urgent so would be grateful for a quick response. :)

Nope, I think is the short answer!

Only solution I can think of is take Student Edition along?
Would personally find it quite hard to prepare a flipchart on AS2 for AS1 training

If you think of AS2 being an upgrade in the same way as XP cannot be opened in '98. Anything "below/older" can be opened by opened by the "newer/superior" version.

Hi there..I've been using Activ 2 now for about 12 months and find it's easier and much more versatile than Activ 1. My suggestion would be for your colleague to load Activ 2 and start using it.

I have to agree with Chris - the advantages of AS2 are such that any AS1 users should convert a.s.a.p.

I have to say that I have a similar problem. I now use active2, but one of the shcools that I help as part of my AST work still has Active1. I have discovered that, unlike most upgraded software, I can have both active1 and active2 installeed on the same machine (my laptop). As long as I am careful not to open and save a file with active2 by mistake, I can prepare active1 resources. So as an alternative to encouraging the colleague to use active2, she could install and prepare in active1. A backward step you may well think, and I would agree, but there were some nice bits in active1 that got "lost in translation".

With the spotlight on, I could right click and take a "snap" as with the camera. I used this to build up a kind of jigsaw of 3 dimensional shapes that could be arranged into the correct positions. I can still do this with active2, but I have to keep reselecting the camera for each snap. With active1 I just kept right-clicking and moving. I also used this when I had several things to "photograph", usually algebra that I had typed in word's equation editor- ActiveStudio may be great, but it isn't that hot when it comes to equations etc. If I think of anything else I'll let you know.
PS I think we're getting a bit "off topic" though.
