Making words selectable?

I'm planning a lesson for my students that involves dragging around the words in a paragraph (identifying nouns, verbs, etc). Of course, when I copy & paste the text, the entire text block is seen as one unit. Is there some way to take a block of text and make each word individually selectable? I guess it's the opposite of grouping?

Or, if not, is there an easier way to do this than creating each word one at a time and then trying to drag them in order? Mine always end up crooked.

I see two different ways to do it.

Typing each word separately and then selecting each row, menu, transform.align>align top. See screenshot.

Or giving the paragraph the action "extract text." So that when someone clicks on a word, it makes a copy of that individual word that can be moved about. See other screenshot.
