Hi there. I apologize if this has been addressed already, but a search did not turn anything up.
I would like to create a flipchart with text that flies in when I tap on the board....is that possible?
Thank you.

You can make something appear or move to another place but don't think you could animate it.

As an educator, my question is always "what is my purpose in doing this?" when creating a presentation or teaching.
To me, fly ins, crazy transitions, many types of animations and sound effects can be distracting to students.
I like the idea of pacing your text by entering one line at a time. This not only keeps your students focused where you want them, but it also keeps them from feeling overwhelmed from seeing too much at once.
So my question here would be "does the fly in add value over another type of reveal method?"
If so, I'm sorry that it cannot be done. As Lisa mentioned, there are several other ways to reveal. Some of the easiest would be just to use the revealer or spotlight tool. I'd contact your local Teaching and Learning Consultant so he or she can go into further depth.

Check out the Activtips videos for further ideas:

Try the ones called:
Hidden Text
Revealer Tool
Those should give you some great ideas to make your text more interactive.

OK I agree, revealing text or pictures one at a time is important... so
a) I tried to use 'revealer' - at the moment it shows as an ugly black mess that I have to slide down by grabbing and sliding - worse its like this when I am in the 'authoring profile' where I just want to be able to add this feature but see the page I am authoring.
b) I tried the 'hidden text' - the text (again in 'authoring mode') just disappeared, can't see it, can't click, can't edit, can't anything but hit the back button.
Now I am aware that I am new to this, but to be honest so far I am not as impressed as I had expected - its almost like powerpoint but not working nearly as smoothly, or as well.

You can (for example) have each of the 10 text items hidden. And by clicking on some "button" next each of them, have them reveal when you click on the button.
There is a great flipchart that was used to film an Activtip video about this. You can access it here:

It has the Activtip video embedded!
Hope this helps!
