Screen Recording with Sound

I am trying to create a screen recording with sound for my flipchart. I watched the ActivTip "Video Recorder" and noticed that the screen recording that was created also had voice. I have followed the step-by-step instructions in the ActivTip video, unfortunately, I have been unable to get sound in my screen recording. I am using Windows XP with SP 3. I did notice that the ActivTip video tutorial was using a MAC and the screen recording was saved as a MOV file. I only have the option to save my screen recording as a AVI file. Am I missing something somewhere in the software settings? I have a check mark in the record audio check box option in my software Recording settings. Thank you for any suggestions, assistance, HELP!!!:)

Is your microphone on and working properly? I use an external mic because the one on my computer doesn't work as well.

Thank you...Yes, I am able to record a "sound" WAV recording. I cannot figure out why no sound records when I am making a screen recording. I have spent an entire day trying to figure out what I am doing wrong. The only video tutorial I can find is in ACTIVtips, and I watched it many times. I have read/ re-read the instructions in the help file.

If it´s any help, I can say that I have exactly the same problem. I can record audio in ActivInspire and I can record video (rec.avi). But I can´t make it a video with sound. So what´s the problem? I´ve tried with Win XP and Vista Home, but the same result. I am pretty experienced using video and sound recordings, but I can´t make it in ActivInspire. Please give us a tip or take this issue to the bugreport.

Today, I updated to version 1.2...latest version. And tried a recording. I got errorcode 14. I will try on another PC as well. Is the bug fixed?

Hi. I was having the same problem for a while, but finally got it to work. At first I was using a mic with (don't know the term) male/female type port and that didn't work. Then I used a usb mic and now it works beautifully. Also, you can ry plugging your mic in, then restart your computer with the mic plugged in to see if that helps.
