Help! I have TWO questions.... hoping to get these "issues" resolved quickly- school starts MONDAY and I really would like to be able to use my P-board the first day!!!! :)

1, A Promethean board was installed in my classroom at the end of last school year. It was used for a couple of weeks, and not used during the summer. During this past week (of teacher work week), I turned it on for Open House- to show my future parents/students. That was Thursday. At that time, I realized my pen did NOT work anymore (it wasn't registering up on the board). We tried "hovering" it over the light in the top left, nothing happened. We tried pulling up the ActivManager menu, and it was BLANK. (The only think I can think of that may have caused this problem was that ActivInspire was loaded about a week ago). Any suggestions on getting my pen to work again???????

2. Yesterday, Friday- I went to turn my projector on- and it WILL not turn on. I'm so confused, because it worked the day before just fine! It starts with a solid red light- I hit the on/off button on the remote- the light turns green, and you can hear the fans turning on- within 20 seconds the light turns red and starts blinking- and then within about another 20 seconds, the light goes solid red again. Never at any point does the bulb turn on. I've tried unplugging and re-plugging in the power cord of the projector and turning the computer on and off. Any suggestions on getting my projector to power on???????

- I have put a technology repair request in through my school, hopefully our county tech people will make it over ASAP. I thought I would try hear too, and see if there is an advice :)

I don't have a solution for you, but I did have difficulty with my board/pen after ActivInspire was installed on my computer. I tried everything. I was able to get a new computer which only had ActivInspire on it. The previous computer had ActivStudio/Primary and ActivInspire and was five years old. I don't know if that was part of the problem. I just know that after Inspire was put on the problem started. I was using a PC running XP on both computers.

Thanks for your input! I'll have to look into seeing if I can maybe get Studio removed!?

Any other suggestions out there???

I can't believe I went from having a wonderful resource in my room- to something that is now completely useless :(

I trouble shoot things in my district and I would suggest that you re-install the driver for you ActivInspire. I had a couple of teachers over the summer have the same problem. After you re-install and reboot your computer try to calibrate again. If that doesn't work then try unplugging the power for 5-10 seconds and then plug it back in. That will reset the electronics in the back of the board.

The only suggestion on the projector is that when was the last time that you cleaned the filter? If that has been done and the filter is fine, then I would suggest that you call the projector company help desk and they may have some other things for you to try. I had one that I couldn't get to work and the company talked me through how to reset the projector.+wave+
