Have you checked out the Help in Inspire - there is a lot of information there about Aligning objects.
There may also be an ActivTip on the topic as well, and of course the online Introductory courses in ActivLearning are well worth working through.

Let's say you make a bunch of stars (1st one with the shapes tool and duplicate them.) You drag them around to line up but you want them to truly align to the left.
So use your selector tool to drag around all of them to select them all. The click on the "object edit menu icon" and pull down to Transform>Align>Align Left.
They will all be align now to the left.
See screenshot.

Thanks for your responses ~ I actually need to reinstall Inspire because my help feature isn't working correctly. I am certain it was a user issue - deleted too many folders:(

The missing Help file happens when you upgrade Inspire - for full information about how to restore that, check out Neil Calverley's posting on this thread http://www.prometheanplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8847

Lisa, aligning that way worked great! Thank you. Does anyone know if I should be able to do the same thing with the "Action broswer" or are the align features there not working or intended for another purpose?

You have to go through the edit menu right now. I tried each of the actions through the Action Browser, but for some reason they don't work when you go through the Action Browser. I was told they were working on fixing that.
Hope this helps.
