I am trying to make a shape rotate around a specific point in Inspire. When I select that option in the properties browser, however, there is no way to highlight or choose a specific point that I can see. Anyone have an answer to this? Thanks!

I'm just looking at this for the first time but here's an idea.
Put a circle, point or small image somewhere on your flipchart that you want the other object to rotate around.
The go to the Property Browser for the "rotation object" and give it the Rotate Property "Rotate About" and select "Another Object."
Then next to the section that says "Rotate Object" click on the little line icon where you can choose the object around which you want this one to rotate. Choose the image or item you wish it to rotate about.
In the Restrictors section of the Property Browser for that object, you may want to say "no" next to "can move." That way it can ONLY be rotated.
See is this helps!

Hi
Specific point is a bit confusing as it only really applies to shapes created by the protractor. It means that the protractor shape will then rotate around the 0 degree point instead of the centre/top left etc etc without you having to pick where that point is on the shape.
Hope this helps a little :D

Thanks for both clarifications - so what does the option 'Other Place' mean?

'Other Place' allows you to enter numeric values into the 'Rotate point x' and 'Rotate point y' property boxes.
These values specify a distance in pixels from the top left corner of the object to a point which defines the centre of rotation for the object.
Remember this position is always relative to the object itself, so if you move the object, its 'Other Place' point of rotation also moves by the same amount.

Reviving this thread for one more 'Rotate about' question -
Why would you rotate about the first line of text? I've tried it and it seems to default to top left.

hiya
what it should do is rotate around the text baseline - ie the bottom left of the first letter on the first line of the text.
another rotate option that isn't working quite right I'm afraid :o

Thanks for your reply Louise. I was so pleased to finally find out about Rotate around specific point - had wondered for ages what this does!
Just for interest, why would rotating around the first line of text be useful - is it used in other software too?

ah, you've got me there - hopefully someone else will jump in with an example of how they would use it.
I do know it was something that was in v3 so I'm hoping that someone has used it :)
