Our county is considering purchasing Promethean Boards for K-12, but we're having trouble deciding what is available for high school. I would appreciate any information you might provide about how you are using it in your high school classrooms.

Hi Sandy,
Although my "strength" is lower down the age range which presumably you would be using ACTIVprimary for? what I would suggest you do is perhaps take a look at some of the Flipcharts which teachers have submitted on the website. Although I am going to "point" you to the English based curriculum Resources, as these are the ones that I know, maybe that will help.
I am sure that Airskeeter will see this post and respond accordingly and he is from your side of the world and so his suggestions/input will be more pertinent? He is from Leesville, Louisiana, USA
In the meantime this link could be a bit of a starting place, obviously you won't be able to open them but it gives you a feel for Science focus.

Hi Sandy,
I currently teach 7th grade math and prior to that taught HS Algebra. There are some available lessons that will fit HS curriculum, but the strength of the system is the ability to take the resources from the ACTIVstudio 2 software and adapt them to your curiculum and needs.
When your are referring to resources, are you referrring to pre-prepared lessons, or content that you can incorporate into a lesson?
The AS2 software has much more flexibility than Powerpoint and can be used with PowerPoint. It took me a few weeks to get used to the differences and I still do not know all of the ins and outs yet, but I feel that this software is well worth the cost, well...it's inculded with the ACTIVboard.
What the whole system gives you is the ability to interactively teach. As you may know teachers al have different levels of skill in implementing technology. AS2 is fairly intuitive and allows teachers to develop their lessons at their level.
I use the ACTIVvotes for assessing student learning all throughout the lesson, for pre-tests, and for testing on the knowledge at the end.
My kids love using the board and slate and there is very little that they can do to it to mess it up!
Best of all, It keeps their attention and increases their learning.
Feel free to email me at wlohman(@)vpsb.k12.la.us. I'd love to lt you learn from my experience, mistakes, this system is great!!!
BTW, Thanks Margaret, You can call me Bill :D :D :D
Have a great day!!

Thanks, AirSkeeter and Margaret, for your helpful suggestions. I already have the boards in my elementary school (almost two years), but the county is making a decision as whether to put them in all schools. I sent the 3 high school tech people your links.
