So, I am nervous about making the switch from Activstudio to Activinspire. Will I lose all my flipcharts that have been created? Will they just transfer? Can I still alter them if they were made in Activstudio.

I looked for a thread to help put my mind at ease - but couldn't find one.

Any and ALL advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!!:D

You should be able to open all of your flipcharts created in Activstudio with ActivInspire, so, no, you won't lose your work!

However, be aware that flipcharts created and/or saved with ActivInspire can not be opened in ActivStudio.

So, don't save over old work if you want to be able to open the original.

Your resource library should blend with the new ActivInspire resource library so you should still be able to access any resources you created and/or installed (Resource Packs) in the Activstudio Resource library.

The ActivInspire Resource library is not yet searchable though. I hear that is coming in the next release.

Hope that helps!

Tim,

Don't be scared at all. You can have both versions runing on your computer at the same time. I currently have Activstudio and Inspire on my computer right now.

As Lisa mentioned, you can open your files in Inspire. They will be saved with a new extension (.flipchart), so you won't lose your old files. But it is always good to make back-ups just in case.

I would take the migration classes on Activlearning and then poke around in Inspire. I think you are really going to like what you see!

I did this a few weeks ago and everything is running smooth! Migration to ActivIspire was most helpful. No worries!

Unfortunately, you cannot go the other way, there is no export from Inspire to Studio. :(
Not even copy/paste works between them
