Not sure which forum to post this in. Every Friday I take my school laptop home and then reconnect it to everything when I come back on Monday. Today my board would not interact with the pens (wasn't connected). I unplugged and replugged and restarted my computer :( but the board would not connect. I am using a PC with Windows XP. I don't think I have added anything to my computer or made any changes since Friday (when my board/pens were working last). Anyone have any ideas, suggestions? I did contact my district computer technician, but not sure if he will make it before the end of the school year (this Friday).
Thanks

You could try unpowering the board, then re-powering.
There should be a small chirp sound as the board comes back to life again...

Thank you for that suggestion. I will give it a try. I vaguely remember put or removing a checkmark in a choice I think in settings about using "pens" or something like that. I can't remember exactly what I did. I know.........I shouldn't tinker with settings. If anyone knows how to get back to the place where I could choose pens or slates, :D please remind me.
Thanks.

Greetings Beach Teacher,

It maybe that the board needs calibrating unless your projector is mounted like mine!

P.S. Our School year ends Friday too! [clap]

Hi beachteacher,

Not sure if this is what you meant, but if you right click on the Promethean driver icon in the system tray and go into the Control Panel, on the Pens tab, this should be set to Mouse and not Pen.

Hope that helps +wave+

+wave+ Thank you for that information. That was what I needed to know. My computer technician did try that. Unfortunately, my pens were still not interacting with the board when school ended. I may not have a solution until I go back in August. One of the things we were going to try was to install the 4.1.1. driver. If I can get that done over the summer, I'll give it a try to see if that fixes it.

Removed the 5.1.1 driver and installed the 4.1.1 driver. Connected to two different boards and got the same message about the hardware may not have installed properly (or something like that). :( The next option is to try a different computer. That won't happen for a couple of weeks. I let you know what happens.

At least school is out and I'm not missing interactive board time. :-/
