Hello! +wave+
Here I am again, with another strange question.
Is there some kind of parameter when opening a flipchart that allows you to open a flipchart at a certain page??
E.g. Start » Run » Then input... "C:\Flipchart.flp" /p 5
The above command would open Flipchart.flp at page 5. Any ideas?
Many thanks!
Dave :D

Dave, are you wanting to do this because you no longer want pages 1-4? If so, by using the page organiser, you can delete unwanted pages.
Alternatively, you can use that same feature to re-order the pages in your flipchart so that page 5 becomes page 1. This feature is the fourth one down in the section with the orange page turn arrows.
Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, there isn't another way to get the default opening page to be anything other than page 1.
Hope this helps.

There is a way if you want to open the flipchart at a specified page from a link or from a user defined button on the shortcut bar.
Take the user defined button - if you don't have a spare one then go into the toolstore and add a new one, you'll find it in the power tools section, just drag it onto the shortcut bar.
Come out of the toolstore and right click on the UDF button. You can browse to the flipchart and add it to the program/file area. Then in command line parameters just add the page number you want the flipchart to open at.
Then, when you open the flipchart from the shortcut it will automatically open at the specified page.
You can also do this when adding a file link to an object or when right clicking on the page and inserting a link.

No, I'm doing this because the flipchart is used for multiple sessions. For example, in one session, page 3 is used. In another, pages 5-8 are used and in another all of the flipchart is used. :)

Didn't think there was a way of doing but thought I'd just ask in case there was.
Many thanks!
Dave.

Wow. That's exactly what I wanted :D Any idea how to make it work with a HTML hyperlink? :p
Many thanks!

Hi Louise,
Do you know if there is a way to use the parameter from outside ACTIVstudio? "C:\Flipchart.flp" 2 doesn't seem to work :(

Dave, it would have to say something like:
C:\Documents and Settings\Sharon A\My Documents\ACTIVstudio 2\My Flipcharts\numberwork.flp
in the Program File
and 5 (if that was the page you wanted the flipchart to open at) in the Command Line Parameters.
In other words, you have to give the whole path name.
Hope you get there!

Yes, but that's only through ACTIVStudio that you do it like that. I'm talking about through Start > Run or through a shortcut outside of ACTIVStudio. :(
