Can anyone tell me if MathType is compatible with the new Inspire? I am a 1st-time user to Inspire, and I just tried using the MathType (that I have religiously used with Studio), and my characters look like a "ghost" when they appear in a flipchart using Inspire? They almost look invisible. Can anyone help? Please!

which version of inspire are you using?
they should paste into inspire 1.1 correctly (although may still be a large size)

I've tried this, too, with no success. I've tried the drag and drop that worked well in ActivStudio 3, as well as traditional cut and paste. Cut and paste seems to do nothing (at least there is no object in the object browser). When I try to drag and drop, the cursor never changes away from the "no" symbol.
ActivStudio 3 was seriously lacking in symbol integration, and Inspire seems to be worse. It's just not reasonable to expect users to create static images. The flipchart I'm making now has 100+ math symbols in it.

My colleague just came up with a nice work-around for MathType and Inspire.
1) Save the MathType image as a .gif file. Put it on the desktop or other accessible location.
2) Drag the saved file into Inspire.
3) Keep the MathType window open for your next equation. Just select all and delete your old equation
4) Save your new equation (CTRL-S) to the same location as the old, to avoid cluttering up your workspace with equations you won't need again.
Still static images, and it adds a couple of clicks. Don't know if I'll be switching to Inspire full time.
Note to developers: When users have to work AROUND your software, your software needs fixing.

Another work-around is to use the camera tool in AS3 or Inspire with desktop overlay to capture the Maths Type equation as an image which can then to be placed on a flipchart page. The quality is quite good by this method.
Inspire has a long way to go before it lives up to its name.
I beg Promethean and Design Science to work together to integrate Maths Type with Inspire in the same way it does with Microsoft Word.
I also hope the future updates of Inspire are imminent as interest and momentum is being lost. It is of little comfort that the compass tool is now not fully functional in so many international languages.
....and what about Activarena???
Sorry to sound despondent but I'd like tomorrow today......

Sorry it's taken me so long to get back to you guys. I have not been on the forum since I posted my question. The end of school was chaotic as you can imagine, so I haven't had a chance to try out what you suggested until today. Thanks for your response. I REALLY appreciate this. I took your advice and made a camera shot of my MathType symbols, and it worked BEAUTIFULLY!!!!! Thanks a billion. I am thrilled that you helped me find a way to continue using my software. [clap] I'm going to come to you guys in the future for help, so be on the lookout.
