I have a problem with Activ3 on my teacher's laptop. When I click on the web browser icon the software throws up an error message saying it can't open this file (It is a file in the windows temp folder which doesn't exist anyway!!). This has only happened recently and isn't a major issue as I can work round it by using IE but it is an irritation. Does anyone know what I could do or check to remedy the situation?
Many thanks

Not sure what is causing this, but the solution is to prevent Studio from trying to browse to the problematic URL.
The Activstudio internal WEB browser remembers that last web site you visited.
To stop this you can do one of two things.
One
Reset All Settings. Visit the Activstudio Settings and click the button 'Reset All Settings'.
Two
'Resetting all settings' is drastic. It also resets all your other Studio settings.
If you want to stop Studio visiting the last WEB site browsed without resetting all other settings you need to:
- Ensure Studio is not running.
- Open the file \My Documents\Activstudio3\ASSettings3.ini
- Remove the line that starts '1003=' (This line contains your last visted URL)
- Save your changes.
Hopefully now the Studio WEB browser will not have a problem.

Thank you Nigel for your suggestion but it hasn't solved the problem!
When I click on the world icon I get this message
Cannot open this file
c:\windows\temp\activprimary3\1\year 5 data logging opportunities
I'm baffled since this isn't even a web address!!
If you or anyone else has any other thoughts I'll try anything!

Hi Lesley,
The only way Studio (or Primary) can look for the URL you mention is for it to be defined within the Studio settings file.
The simplest way to resolve this is to remove the file :ASSettings.ini which is located in your \My Documents\Activstudio3 folder, or in the case of Activprimary: \My Documents\Activprimary3

Hi Nigel
I've thrown caution to the wind and done a reset! All seems to be well now, I haven't set up too much other than default anyway so it's not the disaster it might have been.
Many thanks for your help.
