Has anyone thought about using Activexpression as a peer assessment/peer review tool in the classroom for group projects?

I think it would be fascinating to use the Likert scale questions of Activexpression and use it as a formative assessment tool for project based learning.

I am envisioning a scenario where students will assess their peers on collaborative project, collaborative group presentations using Activexpressions. The data will be archived by the teacher.

Then either later or simultaneously students will also enter the peer assessment data using a web based tool like
"WebPA"

I am currently implementing 'WebPa" in my classroom for student peer assessment.
If you have not had a chance , please check out the terrific opensource application called "WebPa" at:

http://www.webpaproject.com/

This is a opensource app developed by Loughborough University in the UK. (All cutting edge educational software seems to originate in the UK [clap][clap])

If you would like to test drive and see what it looks like, feel free to browse my installation at:

I would like to share a wonderful resource with you. I am a teacher so i need a source to implement it on my students that means i want to make them more interactive with me .If a teacher is showing direction then the way should be proper so that student can get it. I have search down many but recently i came with a wonderful resource Interactive-education (http://www.interactive-education.co.uk) .Now here you got the things which i think support the students. There are several products but the most capable one who really provide an supportive hand for my aspiration is the white board (http://www.interactive-education.co.uk/interactive-whiteBoard-range.php).

I have used expressions as a peer assessment for a persuassive writing series that culminated in debates. I offered four debate topics and students signed up for the topic of their choice. They had a couple of weeks to prepare for the debate (using persuasive writing format for their opening and closing arguments). First I polled the class members not actually debating on how strongly they agreed with the postitions being debated. Then the teams debated. The students then "graded" them using a likert scale for how prepared they were and how well the team members pulled their weight, and finally they were polled again on their position on the topic. I was rather surprised that the poll showed the stronger, more prepared team truly changed the student's opinions on the topic.

The students really enjoyed debating and "grading" their fellow students. It was very successful. The topics we debated were school uniforms, city curfews for children, shorter school day and allowing video games in school. Mine is a fourth grade class - they helped pick the topics by the way. We are a uniform school too so that was a hot topic.+wave+

Debating about "school uniform" is a great way to use Activexpression !![clap][clap]

My friend Robert Powell in the UK was telling me of a school in England where each student is given an Activexpression and they have special clips on their pants to hold their Activexpression. Throughout the day, teachers throughout the school are sending opinion/likert scale questions on various issues to students.

Wonder if Activexpressions can soon be upgraded to become a microblog/Twitter device ???clwn

In the templates - there are a number of review and peer analysis templates set up to easily edit. Do check them out.

You could do it now...

Download the ActivExpression SDK (Free Academic License) from www.prometheanplanet.com/pdn (http://www.prometheanplanet.com/pdn) and hack something with the Twitter API!... Most any web tool with an API would be able to be connected to.

Good hacks could be student comments on a blog article or inputs to Google Docs/Spreadsheets inputs, etc.

Thanks Mark.
A hack with Activexpression SDK with Twitter API sounds like a great summer project {}{}
