I have the opportunity to purchase an activeslate, new in box, but no software. Does this mean I won't be able to register it when I purchase?:confused:

The slate will work with whatever version of software you have for your board: ActivPrimary, ActivStudio or Inspire.

If you haven't got any of our software for another product than you won't be able to use your slate I'm afraid.

Does this mean the hardware needs no drivers? The first step in the manual refers to a cd in the box that is missing from all of the boxes my school received.

Along with the slate you need a receiver and a driver. The receiver can be built into an Activboard or can be standalone - called an Activhub.

The driver is a free download from Promethean Planet and lets the computer communicate with the Activhub and translate the slate signals into mouse signals for the computer.

If you have either of these receivers (board or activhub) - then you can activate a full version of promethean ActivInspire too - by activating the software while connected to the board/hub

1. Why does the activ slate manual refer to a cd that does not exist?

2. Do you have a link for the driver that is a free download? This driver doesn't appear in the main list on the promethean driver site.

Hi,
If you purchased the newer 2.4 ghz activslate with the activhub, then you do not need a special driver to run it with Activinspire. You just need to have Activmanager with activdriver installed. If you do not have this installed, you can download and install it from the software driver section of Planet.

Simply, plug in you in your activhub, go to device registration in Activinspire and then register the slate by pressing the unique 3 letter code on your activslate.

Once the slate is successfully registered, you can use the slate.
