Hi everyone,
I was able to figure out how to add an Itunes file to my flipchart yesterday, but today I am having difficulty with inserting a video. I have tried many different ways and none has turned out the way I would like. I have gone it insert-link-file. I have selected the video that I wish to insert and the screen with all of the options comes up. The only problem is that the video placeholder option is greyed out. What am I doing wrong?
Also, I can't seem to figure out how to use the camera tool on the video either. I know it is possible because I have seen others do it. Every time I try a video it opens up in Quicktime. HELP! ????
Thank you.

From the video options that come up, try selecting "placeholder" from the "add link as" section.

Carrie,
I have tried to click on the placeholder setting, but it is greyed out and won't let me. Can anyone tell me step by step how they insert a video to their flipchart? Thank you.

Laura,
I simply selected Insert-Media and then picked the video I wanted to insert. It popped up on my flipchart page and I was able to play it from the page.
Hope this helps:)

Does Inspire support .mov files? That would be the problem if it doesn't.
Cindy,
When I follow your instructions, a little piece of paper with a Q and Quicktime pops up on my screen. I can select it and the video opens in Quicktime. That way though the camera tools are not available.

Hi Laura,
Okay - Inspire plays Quicktime on my Mac just fine - within the window, allowing me to take snapshots, etc. But on the PC, a .mov opens Quicktime in a separate window as you said. I played around and wasn't able to change that within Inspire. So I guess I'd look for a solution to change a .mov file to a Windows Media or .avi file.
Here's one I found:

I'm sure there are others. Let me know how it goes!!

I was having the same problem. This is what Dave from Promethean responded with
at it works great now for me. See if it helps you.
Hi Kelly,
Try this, as recommended by one of our product managers:
go on the desktop, right click: Properties>Settings tab>Advanced button>Troubleshooting tab:
Turn down the Hardware acceleration to just less than halfway. That should work.

Kelly,
I have tried multiple times to figure out how to accomplish what you suggested. However, I have not been successful. Are you suggesting that I right click on the desktop while Inspire is open or when it is closed? I can't seem to find the settings and advanced tab you referred to. Thanks for any additional help you can give.

Hi Laura,
Yes, he means right click on the desktop - doesn't matter if Inspire is open or not. You'll get the window with Arrange Icons By at the top and Properties at the bottom. Click on Properties. You'll get a window that says Display properties. Click on Settings. Then click on Advanced at the bottom of that window. Then click on Troubleshoot. You should see a slider bar for Hardware acceleration that will let you adjust it to less than half.
See if that will help and let us know!

This worked for me as well but then I was unable to play a dvd unless I went back and reset the hardware acceleration.
