I need help! When I save a flipchart and download it from the promethean site, I am saving it to a folder, let's say my documents folder. I see it there, but then how do I load it in my resource library?

I actually see the flipcharts listed under my resources, under flipcharts but it is listed as a .as3a file attachment.

I hope that is clear, but I can't figure it out. I figured out how to import the resource packs but not the flipcharts.

Thanks!
Jen

Inspire isn't looking at the file location where you saved your previous flipcharts. It is looking in its default location. Try this:

Go the main menu.
File
Settings
Profile and Resources

Uncheck the box that says "use default my resources path".
Click the gray "..... box"

Now you go back to where your flipcharts are already saved. Mine were in "My Documents", "Activstudio 3".
I selected just that as my default so all the "my" folders would show up. When you select on the "one head" or my resources, it will go to where you have them saved for Studio.

Hi Jen,
Could you clarify if you are looking for flipcharts or resource packs. I believe that as3a extension is a resource pack and not an actual flipchart. If you are downloading resource packs: First save them to your computer, then open it. The software will "reindex"your shared library ( no need to reindex your personal library unless it specifically installs to that library).

After that , you need to restart the software so the reindexing is complete. Each resource pack will install in a different location, but frequently they will go into Shared Collections.
I hope this helps.

I'm having the same problem. The resource packs that I've downloaded have a as3a extension. However, when I go to export to resource packs on ActivInspire, it's looking for an as4a extension. What do I need to do to access these resource packs? Thanks!

when you export resource packs it creates a new resource pack from the selected folder - this will be in the as4a format as this is the new inspire format

if you want to add existing resource packs to inspire then go to the file menu, select import & the resource pack options are at the bottom of the list.
Hope this helps.

ActivInspire will 'see' resource packs with file extension .as3a OR .as4a when you import a resource pack.
When you export resources using ActivInspire you create a .as4a resource pack...
The .as3a resource packs were created using ActivStudio3 or ActivPrimary3.
