I'm having similar trouble registering my ActivSlate with the new software as I was with the Activotes. My slate has always run directly through my board, without the need of a hub. When I register it in Device Registration, it's popping up, but doesn't work. Is there a setting that I need to have turned on in order for the slate to work? I tried registering it through a separate hub and the hub doesn't recognize my slate.
Any Ideas?

I believe the older Activslate does not communicate with the new inspire. Because the Inspire software is new it seems to only communicate with 2.4 hubs and hardware. I am having the same problem, though after I removed the inspire it worked fine put it back on a once again it wouldn't communicate. If I had to guess I would say it has something to do with the new driver.

Hi
This is a known issue that other people have got round by registering it in v3 but still being able to use in inspire.

That's a worry - is it on the list for fixing?
I wouldn't be happy if all the 'old' slates are now regarded as obsolete.

I tried that and was unsuccessful.

Does anyone know if this issue is being fixed. I had some teachers tell me today that the slates at their school would not interact with Inspire. I don't have the technical info on their slates but they were bought about 2 years ago, so they are older ones

I'm having the same issues with my older version ActivSlate and ActivInspire. I'm using slate model PRM-RS1-01 (not on a hub) and when I am in the registration screen in Inspire I can see the PIN I am supposed to enter but after I click on the Register button on the slate, the LCD screen flips away back to the "home" screen. It won't let me input the 3 letters of the PIN. Is slate firmware an issue? I'm on V1.16 on the slate.
The "Version 3 fix" won't work for me because my district has already removed 3.5 before installing ActivInspire.
Please, please advise!

I have the latest version of both ActivStudio and ActivInspire. After some experimenting, it seems like the ActivSlate will work if you first register it in ActivStudio. You can even close ActivStudio, and the slate continues to work with Inspire and other programs on the computer.
Hope that helps!

Try upgrading your hub
go to Promethean KB and they have the instructions

I had a similar situation, and someone in Promethean's tech support suggested unplugging my Activhub before registering my slate in ActivStudio. For some reason, the tech said it creates confusion during registration because the slate does not know which hub to use. After registering, re-plug your hub for your Expressions, and see if that works. Also note that while in Inspire, it may still show 0 Activslates registered, but mine still worked...It worked for me, so I thought I would pass the information along.

Thanks for the suggestion but my district has already removed ActivStudio 3.5 from all our computers so that's not an option for me.

Hi
I would suggest try the upgrade to ActivIsnpire 1.2 and ActivDriver 5.2.7. This could have an improvement to help with your issue

Hi everyone-- I think I have a fix--
after you register your slate, you have to double click on the icon of the slate (still on the register devices screen) then hit the "enable" button. It worked for my partner teacher. He has no hub, just a slate. He also upgraded to version 1.2. I hope this helps.
I have a hub, and my slate will not even register. still waiting...
