.... is the title of a 90 minute workshop I will be running on Saturday morning (Australia time, which is Friday night-ish in the UK and USA). The workshop will be in a computer lab with some version of ActivStudio 3 installed (wasn't able to find out which version). The participants' current level of expertise in creating flipcharts will, I think, be rather rudimentary.

I have conducted many workshops on how I use ActivStudio in the classroom but this is my first workshop on teaching teachers to create their own flipcharts. I want to session to be meat-and-potatoes, and not the fancy dessert, as that is what I think these teachers need now.

If you were preparing such a session, what would you include?

TIA for any replies (especially those that arrive before the workshop :))

Cheers

I would make sure that they could do the following:

Demonstrate a simple completed flipchart and re-create it by doing the following.
Type in a text box
Search and add a graphic on a page. (navigate resource library)
Add a background on a page.
Annotate and highlight on the graphic and text.
Show how you can move objects around on the page.
Add page notes.
Use the fill bucket to color in words
Access a good page template and modify it.
Have them register for Planet
Search, Download and open a flipchart from Planet
Show them the Activtips and Activlearning courses on Planet to go further.

Is that too much?

Now why did I think, when I was composing my post, that LisaD might be the first to reply?

Thanks, Lisa. I don't think I can cover all of those topics in 90 minutes, but I am looking at providing a workshop series on this in the next term, so your list will be invaluable for that. [clap]

Well, in the end, I was able to do pretty much all of what LisaD suggested. Thanks, Lisa [clap][clap]
