View Full Version : How would you do this?

I was showing off some of the features of ActivStudio 3 to some colleagues the other day, particularly the ability to hide objects and using actions have them be revealed one at a time. A colleague then set me a challenge and I couldn't find a decent answer so hoped you could help.

I have attached the flipchart page I was using. I picked these three objects at random and the problem posed was to only have the house showing to start with, the box to appear when you click on the house and then slide the box out the way to reveal the stork!

Look forward to the ideas!

The only problem is that if the box is invisible the stork would "show through" it.

Click the house to reveal the box.

Click the box to make it move.

Click where the box used to be to make the stork appear.

Group the box & the stork.

Click on the house to Show the group.

Click on the box to Ungroup.

Discreetly disable actions (click on arrow top right).

Slide the box to either side, revealing the stork!

1. Add a rectangle to the page and fill it with the background color (in this case white). Lock the rectangle so it doesn't move.

2. Put the action "Send to back" on the house, and have it move the rectangle to the back.

3. Click on the house to move the rectangle.

4. Move the box out of the way to reveal the stork.

I hope that helps!

JUNE!!! I was just working on that. I also added a white box, which could also be a camera shot of the page minus the house and stork.
1. house moves the box to the back
2. click on the box to move it to the left

:) Challenges are always fun!

Cool! A coordinated background works too.

Wow!

I can't believe that there have been so many great suggestions for how to do this already! Thank you so much to everyone but I have to say that I like June's solution the best. Such a simple idea but exactly the effect that I was trying to acheive.

Thanks again to everyone who has posted.
