I am on a Mac using Inspire and I just took a flipchart that worked great in Studio and made it into an Inspire flipchart. I have noticed quite a few differences, but the main problem area is the video that did play in Studio now only shows as a black rectangle/window - with no sound or image playing. This flipchart has worked on Macs and PC's: Vista and Leopard, so is this an Inspire issue? Help, Please! ????

One more thing: I can't get .gif to play on my Mac. I can get it to work using Activstudio on my PC, but on the Mac, it stays as a still image in Studio. In Inspire, the image starts out as a blackened rectangle and then becomes a still image - it doesn't play. Is this a Mac issue with the software? I haven't downloaded Inspire on my PC, but I thought that the software was supposed to be (fairly) identical in its functionality. ????

Another issue I have found is that even after playing with the SETTINGS, I thought that my tool color would have been different and less transparent, but it isn't changing even after I say "Done." My protractor is closer to invisible than opaque and I can't make it more opaque for easier viewing.

The tickertape is playing better in Inspire. [clap] After figuring out how to play with and customize the new toolbar, it's actually fairly easy to use. :) The internet browser is much better now [clap] As much as I miss the right click pen modifier tools, the shape tools - when you select the down arrow for the 3? or 4 columns - there are many WONDERFUL new options that are FABULOUS!!! Not to mention that I think all Geometry teachers LOVE the new "edit shape" option to resize polygons. Very cool! :D

I am attaching my flipchart with the "flashy" words - it doesn't play on my Mac in Inspire, it just flashes nicely once quickly and then is a frozen image... it should play consistently.

Any help is appreciated! +wave+

They glitter nicely in inspire on my PC.

I know that's no help but I figured I would pass it on. :(

I down loaded your glitter words flipchart and it is working just fine on my Mac. I'm using a MacBook Pro with Leopard 10.5.6. I have a MacBook at my office and I'll try it on that machine tomorrow. It is also running 10.5.6 software.

My problem is that when I create a video using the Screen Recorder in Inspire. It looks like it creates it just fine, but then I try to preview it and the color wheel spins and then the program crashes. I look where I saved the video and I can play it from Quicktime, but it is really choppy and doesn't run smoothly. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For the glitter issue I would recommend upgrading Flash Player and see if that works.
For video issues on PCs sometimes things improve if you turn down hardware acceleration (Troubleshooting tab on the Display settings.)
I'm not certain but I don't think Macs cope with animated gifs.

Peter!!!! Oh man! How simple - and it worked! I needed you just a little earlier - - - I had to delete my "flashy" words from my presentation that I gave yesterday and today (early today)... but now my flipcharts will be all the more amazing. How perfect! Super cool to have my glitter words. :)

On a side note, my presentation I gave today in Inspire ran SO slow... terribly slow. The zoom tool became almost unusable and everything I was doing had about a 5 - 10 second delay. This has not happened in the past couple weeks for me using Inspire - so it was a fluke for today maybe. ???

I think maybe when my video was embedded into my Studio flipchart, it didn't convert correctly into Inspire. If I had the video file separate now, maybe it would play just fine.

P.S. THANK YOU for the help!!!!!

Have you got the latest version of Quicktime installed?
If not Google filehippo and download it from there - and lots of other utilities and updates!
Hope that helps.
