I have created a user defined button for opening equation editor and even found how to roll out the toolbar to reveal it. When I open equation editor and type the equation, then select all and copy it, when I return to the flipchart, right click and paste, nothing happens. How can I get my equation into the flipchart?

it might be that the equation has been pasted but the transparency is wrong - as has been reported by other users, I just don't know if they are using the same equation editor as you.

If you marquee select the page it may select an invisible object. Then open the properties browser & change the transparency colour & the object could appear.

Did equation editor work with V3? I've always had complaints from teachers that it didn't.

I am using the Equation Editor that comes with Word 2007. It used to work like a charm in ActivStudio. I used to open Eqution Editor with a user-defined button, type my equation, copy it, toggle back to the flipchart page and paste it. Now, I can still get Equation Editor to open from a user-defined button, I type the equation and copy it, but when I toggle back to the flipchart page and hit paste, nothing happens. I tried using the marquis select tool to select a possible invisible element on the page, but there is nothing there to select. This is important enough to my math teachers that they won't upgrade to ActivInspire until it is fixed. Please help.

I use Math Type, but it's the same situation. I've gotten used to just taking a picture of it (as an object) and posting it into the flipchart. On a Mac, you can just hit command-control-shift-4 (all at the same time), toggle over to ActivInspire, and paste it into your flip. If you use Windows, you could just use the camera tool.

Hi Margaret,
Copying and pasting from equation editor is certainly an issue with Inspire.

Until this gets resolved, an extra step instead of copy and paste would be to go to Inspire desktop annotate mode, use the camera tool, snap the image of the equation from equation editor and then copy to clipboard and then paste into Inspire flipchart.

Just to follow up on what Gautam said, while you certainly can open a desktop flipchart, most profiles will actually have a Desktop Tools tool right below the profile switching button. This hides your flipchart and pulls up a "wonderwheel" like the express poll with most of the options you'd want to use on your desktop. Please see attached images, DT2 shows the tool on the toolbar, DT1 shows the wheel itself (With More Tools selected).
