I have developed Flipcharts using professional Edition and for viewing the flipchart we are using Active studio student edition, am facing the following issues when i run the Active studio student edition setup and at the time of opening the flipcharts.
1.Occasionally the activities would not open when selected. The user then ends up selecting multiple times, the program effectively freezes. To resolve this the user can open the control panel and close the 'ActivStudio' files that are supposedly active (but never seen by the user). Once they have been cleared, a single click to an activity will open it. When the user click the quit button from the flipchart ,flip chart close but still the 'ActivStudio' application running ,it takes few seconds (5 - 10) to close the application completely in the mean time user click another flip chart link it freezes ,but we can see two or three applications running in the background. Please refer the screen shot ( Taskmanager.JPG).
2.In the homepage of the flipchart when we click the TRASHBIN button, and confirm to delete the page the home gets deleted. We are directed to the first page of the unit, because you just deleted the homepage there is no way to go back to the homepage and exit the flip chart. We have tried hiding the trash bin in professional edition when we create the flip chart but it exits while we open the published flip chart using student edition. Is there a way to hide or remove the trash bin in both student and professional edition of active studio.
3.During the installation of 'Activstudio Student Edition v3.6' in WINDOWS XP Russian a window pops up:'O caminho da pasta ?? ?? ? contém um caracter inválido.'At the background you can see the installation of 'Activstudio Student Edition v3.6' is running.When clicking OK, the installation is canceledThis issue still occurs after correcting the regional settings of the system (to Russia) Attached you can find the systems DXDIAG file Please refer the screen shot (install3.JPG and DxDiag_system197.txt)
4.When starting the installation of 'Activstudio Student Edition v3.6' in WINDOWS XP Russian, the first window shows a drop-down list containing only question marks '?? ?? ?' (except for 2 lines)After all this seems the be caused by wrong set regional settings. After correcting the regional settings to 'Russian', the installation screens are shown correctly. Please refer the screen shot (error.jpg).
5.ActivStudio SE was installed in my machine previously and Uninstalled . Next time when am trying to install from cd ,Installation of ActivStudio SE failed. An error message was displayed 'Error 1901: Error attempting to read from the source installation database...' see screen shot.User had no choice but to cancel the installation. Please refer the screen shot (Unable to load backup profile data.JPG)
6.Issues installing ActivStudio SE after uninstalling ActivStudio Professional Edition. Setup disc did complete the ActivStudio SE loading sequence with WINDOWS XPPSP3 PCs set up for SmartBoard and Promethean Activboards. These PCs previously had ActivStudio Professional Edition loaded. User removed ActivStudio PE (only, resources file were left as was ActivPrimary files) and was able to load ActivStudio SE from Setup disc (which was not permitted with the eBeam software after uninstalling SE), however with SmartBoard, when attempting to open activities from the Brilliant main menu they would not open. See screenshot. The user had to restart the machine; after restarting in Smartboard, and immediately in Promethean Activboard when attempting to access an activity an error message was displayed whilst the flipchart was loading 'Unable to load backup profile data' See screen shot. Selecting OK to this correctly displayed the selected flip chart.
