Hi

Many schools now use the VLC player as it is compatible with many video formats/codecs etc... I have noticed that the avi's that are created with 'screen recorder' only play back with windows media player... great if you haven't installed vlc... just wondered if there was a fix to enable playback of these files in VLC? thanks

David, they play back in quick time or wmp.

Have you tried making VLC the default player for .avi files? It may still be assigned to WMP.

Attached is the listed file extensions that can be played with VLC.

You probably just need to change what the default player is.

Hi Bill

Thanks for you quick reply... vlc was the default player and I've now changed it to wmp as the clips played back as flickering black images with just the mouse pointer and the odd few blocks of pixels showing and moving around... very strange... still... they play perfect in wmp... cheers

Just wondered Bill, do you miss the area screen recorder option?

David: Is it possible to change the video recorder from automatically default to something besides AVI. Is there another option besides AVI?
