Brave users of our new software!
We would like to flush out the issue some people have reported on MAC.
Please try the following.
Open Express Poll (no hardware is needed), then Close it.
Then try and Open Inspire (Full version).
Please report here if this helps.

I can't even get it installed. I get this message. Something similar happened when I downloaded the beta version but they posted a fix.

My question....by downloading and installing Inspire will I lose functionality of my current ActivStudio software? I got burned big time when I upgraded before and a patch didn't exist for Leopard. I was left without software for 4 months! A little hesitant to try now...but really want to dive in and play at the same time.????

Hi Anne,
Separate code, separate programs. I use both in leopard. Go ahead and install, you can use both.

Previous versions of Activsoftware and ActivInspire will run on the same machine.:)

I got everything installed and launched ok, however everytime I try and launch or open a flipchart I crash. If I try and insert media...I crash.

I tried opening express poll, it bounces around in the dock and then just closes. Same thing happens with the inspire icon. REALLY FRUSTRATING!

I tried running express poll, no difference . It comes up with the Beta Has Expired message as well.
I have had no success trying to get Inspire to run on a MacBook running 10.5.6. However, it loaded and runs fine (or seems to) on a slightly older Macbook runnng 10.4.11.
Do we think the OS version is relevant?
BTW: Where do I track down the Tech Support # for the US?

It crashes on startup every time, as well as express poll. however, it worked fine when i logged into my guest account :) must be some conflict with other software which is not installed on the guest account. it's a temporary workaround at least.
1 day later... now it crashes in my guest account too

Just to reassure everyone who has posted an issue with the Mac startup that we are working super-hard, super-urgent on this as it's just as frustrating for us as it is for you! We've identified a possible culprit in the OS but need to do a little more digging.
For those of you who have experienced the issue, please feel free to PM me with further details and I'd be happy to engage with you directly.
Thanks to everyone for their patience.

Its funny....
I tried the ExpressPoll and it was running but not ACTIVE in my window. Something else was on top of it. As soon as I switched to bring that to the front, it crashed.
Inspire happens exactly the same way. Its running now (has been for a minute).
Now I'm going to switch over to that program by hitting Apple Tab . . .
I clicked on a dashboard item and it crashed.
Does that help?
thanks

Just installed Inspire on a MacBook OSX 10.5.5 that was using trial version without problems. The application launches fine under the admin account on the MacBook. Will not launch under local (non admin) accounts.
Tried to launch Express Poll but it won't launch under the local (non admin) accounts either.
Could this be a problem just with non-admin accounts?

I am happy to report that today, for the first time, I have been able to get Inspire working on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.5.6). I don't know exactly why it started working, but it did. The beta version crashed repeatedly on startup, but I was hoping that the official release would be "fixed." I was able to install it yesterday, and get a serial number for it. After that, it crashed. Subsequent attempts, same result, always on startup.
Today, I gave it another try, not having done anything different that I'm aware of, and surprise, surprise, it worked. I've been able to save flipcharts, open old flipcharts, close and reopen the program.
I should add that I've also installed Inspire on a Macbook (OS X 10.5.5), and it worked from the start, both beta and official. Not sure what's going on here, but glad to have it finally working on the Pro.
