Using the Pen

I just got the new board installed and every time I leave it for a while it "goes to sleep" when I come back to it the pen will not work, onlu the mouse onthe computer. What d I do to get the pen to work other than restart the computer each time

I'm not very technical but I wonder if somehow the USB port is shutting down if the computer goes to sleep. Just an idea.

It most likely is the USB port losing power.
I'm assuming you are on Windows, as you didn't specify.

Right click on My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager
Scroll to Universal Serial Bus Controllers

Any errors?
explore each one by right clicking and look at Power Management.
Is the box checked to allow Windows to shut off power to them?

Check the driver version on your laptop with that on the Support page on Planet. If the you're is older, update the driver. That will probably cure it.

You might try unplugging and plugging in the USB (each end).
