For months now, I have been adapting flipcharts and creating very simple flipcharts. For a few days now, I have been working really hard on my very first content-based flipchart. I was working on it tonight when all of a sudden, it stopped working. Now, I can't even open it. Each time I try, I can click through the first few pages, then a message pops up "ASStudio3 has stopped working". If someone could figure out what is wrong, I would greatly appreciate it...I even tried to open the flipchart in Inspire, and it won't work there either....It must be bad. I can't even upload the flipchart as an attachment. ????

Well...here's another go of it.

Yup, same thing - I got to page 8, then trying to go to page 9 caused the crash. Same problem when I tried going back from page 10, also when I tried to drag that page into the pane in Flipchart Builder.
When I navigated to page 10 using the Page Organiser or Page Selector views, I was able to move on through the flipchart without any problems.
I tried Deleting page 9 in the Page Organiser view, then Saving the flipchart with a new name. That worked OK, so maybe that is a workaround for now?
No idea what the problem is with that pesky page 9, but I have had something like that happen before so I can feel your pain!
Hope this helps +wave+

Hilary,
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try deleting page 9 and let you know what happens...

Hi there ... I opened your flipchart on a MAC and had no problem... went right through it, including page 9? You must be using a PC? That may help to figure the issue for someone that knows the technical stuff...????

Yep, you guessed it...I'm using a PC. I have been having Mac-envy for some time now since a few of the teachers in my district got them this year. Some of the teachers don't like having Macs, so when one of them wants to trade, the techs said that I could...
If I don't go near page 9, I can still open the flipchart and work. Right now, I'm trying to make the flipchart more interactive. If any "more seasoned" Activeterans would like to offer suggestions, I am open to them...Did I just make up a new Prometehan word..."Activeterans"?:)

I love the term "Activveterans" I've heard "Activjunkies" Activaholics" but thats a good one..
A few ideas as you asked- Sometimes just simple things, like hiding and revealing, or using more of the tabs with text off the page, pulling things or ideas out from behind objects. Just use lock more frequently and you'll get some good ideas! I love the content you have added.
I'll look at again when i have a minute and see what else we can add that will be simple, yet impressive to your students! [clap]

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll get back to work on those. I was adding the content and was working on ways to break the information up with the flipchart went crazy. I have since deleted page 9, and now I need to re-create it...hopefully without anything else weird happening.;)

Hello Cindy. I like your flipchart - I learned a lot about fake food!
Please satisfy my curiosity - what was it on page 9 that caused Activstudio to crash each time I tried to view it? Had you embedded an animation, as I find that this can cause problems.
My suggestion would be to add a few backgrounds - I use a variety of backgrounds, as the white glare from the IWB can get tiring for pupils (and me).

Here's a thought - how about one of you lucky Mac people having a look at that page, removing anything that could cause a problem, then re-posting just that page to this thread for Cindy?

I'm on a Mac and had no trouble with page 9. I saved it by itself to another flipchart, maybe that will help you:confused: Good luck!

Because a pc is all I have right now, I just went ahead and deleted the quirky page 9 and re-created it. All is well so far...I'm still working on making the flipchart more interactive.:)
