I wonder if someone could kickstart one of my uploaded AP flipcharts (Health & Growth) so that it will appear with the flipchart viewer. I tried to track down a relevant thread - I think LisaD helped out the last time someone's flipchart got stuck like this.

Thanks in advance - the link is here:

I'll give it a shot! Kick, kick!:p

It worked but the thumbnails are tiny! Wonder why? Are your pages set to be super big?

Thanks Lisa!
I'm pretty sure the pages are usual, standard size - but I have had a lot of sleeps since I made this one - will investigate this.
Still small and perfectly formed is better than the invisible man look!

Wow - that is weird Lisa.

I know that the Previewer shows actioned objects instead of hiding them, but there is no flipchart thumbnail in the search window and the first page of the flipchart doesn't look right - yet when you hover over it, it is displayed correctly (but not obviously when you are trying to look at that page in the viewer).

Must have a look at that page in the real flipchart.

Ok, I've fixed your thumbnail image!

Hope I did it justice!

It looks as good as it can look Lisa...
Thanks again.

Have checked the original page size and it's the same as all the rest I uploaded - 924x693 - set to 100%.

Strange - very strange. One for the gremlin dep't, perhaps?

Maybe you have some object off the "normal" part of flipchart page in the "world" that is causing the preview to show like that.

Lisa this gets even weirder...

Looking at my original flipchart I had 61 pages - and a total file-size of 4,908 kb.
This one seems to have only 21 pages.

There are containers hanging off the edges of a couple of pages - but nothing that expands as far as the preview would suggest into the page world area.

I wonder if something went wrong as I was uploading this one?

Perhaps I should just resubmit it and ask you to remove the troublesome first try.

That works for me! Just let me know when you've done it and I'll get rid of the original one.

I have just uploaded the flipchart again Lisa with the same title.
Thanks!

Thanks again, again Lisa.

It looks and previews well - all 61 pages present and correct at the right size.

Just one supplementary question - are the pages with actions on displaying their actioned objects because of something I've done or is this an automatic process caused by the previewer applet.

I think it shows hidden things and action objects on its own. I've noticed that, too. Nothing you did wrong.

Hi,

Yep. This is a known issue with the Planet thumbnail renderer and is on the 'to fix' list.

You beat me to my next post Nigel.

Was just wondering whether to post it here or in the Inspire section?

At the same time as fixing this issue might it be worth adding an author edit option so that authors can 'fix' their own flipchart niggles without having to rely on the excellent Lisa to prune out the unwanted old stuff.

In the past, flippers have mentioned various ideas such as sending author feedback i.e. thanks and ratings. Now seems like an ideal opportunity to think about these things before the V4 flipcharts start to make their appearance on the Planet. (As if you guys haven't got enough on at the moment.)

Just another thanks Lisa...

That flipchart has been downloaded 15 times already in just three days since you sorted out the thumbnail and preview.

Which just goes to show how important a utility the previewer is.

You are welcome. :p

Isn't it rewarding to know that someone likes your work and more importantly to imagine that some children somewhere in the world are perhaps benefiting from you sharing your work! Makes me warm and fuzzy! {}
