This past summer I was the one person chosen on my campus to have an Activboard Christmas! Due to hurricanes and well other tiny delays, my board was only recently installed and our district finally had training today!
As one of my trainers said, "Activboard - It's the new crack!"
She is soooo very right! I didn't want to leave school this evening. All I wanted to do was stay, play, and plan! :D
Anyway, hello to all and happy Activboard day to you!
I'm totally on {}
(Earlier, I accidently posted this in the wrong forum.):o

Hi Laura +wave+
So pleased a relative newcomer found the courage to post and say hello! [clap]
We hope you enjoy your ActivBoard and of course we hope to see you here often, posting and contributing lesson ideas once you have established your confidence in the technology.
Any other newcomers to our community feel like saying hi? Come on we have over 5,000 of you each week! :)

Oh, message boards don't frighten me. :o I'm kind of an addict to the message board for the fan association of my favorite band.
As for my Activboard, I had two observations today with the board. The first lesson/observation was infront of the "district big wigs" who gave me rave reviews. The lesson was a two part-er: "Hey Kids! This is our Activboard, and it does....." The other half was my intro lesson into Area. I cannot tell a lie - I borrowed the lesson from the fun little icon with the books. :-/ The second lesson was this afternoon infront of my principal and literacy coordinator. They, too, responded with....[clap]. I just :Ded.
I'm sure I will be up at the school this weekend. At the time, I will fiddle around these parts and figure out how to share my lessons. :cool:
(so yes, on the day after my training, I had two observations - I'm the kind who just dives right in. Sometimes, it works and sometimes it causes a few bumps on the head.)

I know the feeling... That's the way I have ALWAYS felt about this classroom solution. I might give you one suggestion to make your life a bit easier... Ask your tech guy to let you have the software to load on your home computer...That may be good, or bad... You may find yourself working every chance you get...{}

He left it in my room. The software "accidently" fell into my bag.;):cool: "Load software" is already #3 on my Saturday morning to-do list. [clap]
However, yes, given that I'm a lot like my mother (not in the education profession) I do tend to be a work-a-holic.
Luckily though, it gives me a good excuse to avoid doing laundry and cleaning the house. :cool:

Welcome to geek heaven - Activ Nirvana... in a manner of speaking.
Hi from New Zealand, where we boot up and launch Activsoftware before y'all fall out of bed in the morning ;)
Hilary
PS I'm with you on the laundry and cleaning - life's too short!

Hey Westlake and Booth,
Oh yes... it has become an addiction.
To Westlake, I chuckled with your comments about me falling out of bed. For such a small country, I'm astounded how many educational theories and programs I've run across from New Zealand. That just blows my mind. Congrats for the accomplishments on that. [clap]

Make sure you have the correct format. There are different discs for PC and MAC platforms.
