On the last day of class this semester I used the "Feedback Module" of Moodle to ask students to evaluate their teacher. This is the first time I have been able to get electronic data and able to analyze their responses.
No surprise, the word 'Promethean" shows up many times.
What more proof can a company like Promethean want to see if their products are making an impact in the classroom??

15.) Please tell us what you liked about this class
- the curriculum was well explained
- I liked all the games and technology that was incorporated with this class. I could learn and have fun at the same time. Also, I liked having enough time to finish all of my homework in chemistry.
- i like the fact that mr. saha hel our intrest throughout the entire semester. I really enjoyed this class and can't wait to see him next year.
- There is always plenty of time given for the homework assignments. The class website helps students remember deadlines and the forums are helpful, too.
- I liked this class because we were able to do cool experiments..... Especially with fire.
- This class is easy to understand, there is little homework, and we can ask questions on the forum if we need help.
- The labs we did were very hands on and helped us getting an understanding for exactly what we were learning. i also liked to use all of the new technology.
- I like the avaliblity of the teacher. He gives us so many tools with which we can improve our studies, ask questions, and be reminded of up coming events. He takes time out of his schedual to create flip charts to help us understand certain concepts. He is extremely genorous and tolerent.
- I love the way how technology is intergrated with the curriculum. It helps us to understand it much better. I have already told my middle school teachers how awesome chemistry is this year, and how many resources are provided that help me to be a better student and to understand the material. The work input by the teacher is the way how the student will perform, and it is proven by the many interactive things and quizzes that take hours and hours to make, that all students taking chemistry with Mr. Saha will succeed, far beyond their other 9th grade counterparts in schools throughout the county.
- I liked that Mr. Saha used technlogy very wisely and that he always answered question quickly and accurately.
- It was very fun and there was a large amoutn of technology used, and it was easy to understand.
- I liked many things about this class. First of all, Mr. saha used the Promethean board and its technology to incorporate 'fun' in the class. He would make his own games and videos.
- i liked how me.saha explains everything clearly. he also says it again on different days just in case for those whom dont pay attention
- The use of technology and labs, use of educational games
- I liked how the material was made easy with the use of example that were humorous, and how my teacher got everyone in the class involved.
I also liked how there were so many assignment so that if you bombed one if didn't make you drop a letter grade or fail the class.
- Use technology frequently to enhance learning which keeps to the purpose of this school.
- The assignments we were given helped us and directly was the material that was on tests and overall it was a very fair class
- I liked the use of technology in this class. It really grabs my attention and helps me learn more.
- I mostly liked that the class was not like most classes. The technology was used daily. As soon as we got into the classroom, we had to take out our laptops. The Promethean Board's were used to its fullest, and the test formats were great with immediate feedback.
- I liked how the class used so many fun experiments, like the gold penny lab or the testing of how fireworks work to allow us to learn about chemistry. I also liked how many things I learned in this class and how well I was taught. I liked how this class was very organized and the rules for turning things in were fair.
- Lots of use of technology to help make learning easier.
- This class was easy to follow, and I learned a lot on top of what I already knew in middle school. It helped me understand concepts that I didn't understand earlier by taking them further and in more detail. In other words, I learned not just what, but why things are the way they are. I also thought it was pretty cool for you to have us answer this teacher evaluation and get our feedback.
- This class is interesting and makes sense. It is not a concept that would be useless to know. It makes sense in that it is not out there or hard to understand.
- I enjoyed the labs that we would complete almost every week.
- everything
- The forum was well done, and the lessons were integrated with various media forms. All the lessons were also covered very thoroughly and reviewed many times.
- I loved the labs we did and the fun games we played to help review all the content we learned, and THE TEACHER IS FUNNY AND COOL
- The instructor's usage of technology like our laptaps and the Promethean boards are a very fun and creative way to teach chemistry.
- I definitely thought that the use of technology in this class benefited me because I had 24 hour access to homework assignments, due datesl, practice question, and a forum where my questions could be answered. This stimulated a great working environment.
- I liked this class because it has to do with chemicals and experiments .
- The instructor has an appropriate way of teaching. I enjoy learning the course with the use of technology. The instructor teaches the material in an understandable way.
- I liked how he used examples that were easy to understand. I also like the format of having a test almost every fridday
- This class was really fun and that made it easier to learn the new materials.
- I liked the use of technology in the class and how the teacher taught the students using many examples.
- I enjoyed the freedom to get help when required. Mr. Saha always responded when people needed his help.
- The use of technology and Promethean flipcharts was a very good study guide and many kids wanted copies from us. Also the website was very very very very handy in looking at when things were due.
- I liked to do the labs. Additionally, the way we used technology was a fun experience.
- I liked the use of technology in the class.
- I think chemistry is an interesting subject and that Mr.Saha is a great teacher that is more than fit to teach us.
- The use of technology
Having time to actually do the homework
Being able to ask questions
- This class was very well structured throughout the whole year. It was impossible to forget if an assignment was due or not and there was always extra help that was posted on Mr. Saha's website. It helped most of the time. It was interesting how he made extensive use out of Promethean programs to make games and quizes.
- the interesting ways to convey a message.
- I liked how the class had time to turn in our work. I also liked how the website was updated consistently. The forum helped answer many questions.
- 1. We were told of homework assignments ahead of time

2. Almost all of the things we learned in class was avaible on the share drive as either a flipchart for review or worksheet (the worksheets being aviaible on the website is very helpful)
- It used a good balance of technology-based assignments and physical assignments to be done on paper. It used easily understandable examples. Also, the use of labs was good to help learning and understanding.
- I like some of the labs.
- I liked how he could make an example using technology to answer virtually any problem. I also like the idea that we had a forum where we could ask questions to the teacher. I loved the idea that we had two days.
- I like that we actually got to learn the concept instead of memorizing something. I also like the forum on the class website. It is very helpful. I also like the fact that worksheets are usually due about 2 days after they were given.
- the use of the Promethean board to show examples
- I liked the good organization. I liked that I always knew what my assignments were and when they were due.
- I liked that it wasn't all memorizing. We actually had some fun and learned at the same time. The teacher was not mean or always serious. We actually laugh in this class. I liked the teacher more than the class.
- I enjoyed the intergration with the technologly. I though it was neat how Mr. Saha made the mini review games. I felt those really helped in solidifying what I already knew.

Of course, Mark stole my favorite one as well. Oh, to have had Moodle when I was in High School... Although, none of my comments would have sounded like this... :p

Gautam, this is super cool, and I am so happy your students love learning! Thanks so much for sharing this with the entire planet community, and keep up the great work!

>>>>>Oh, to have had Moodle when I was in High School..

I am Loving my "Moodle in a box" with my kids!

Basically a "plug and play LMS on your network"... with remote access for students from home if your IT allows it.

Get it out of box - plug into router, ask kids to link to URL it provides... Literally up and running in 20 seconds!!!!! Instead of weeks of fretting about bandwidth, hosting, security, management, etc.

Best thing is - it is on YOUR network and you do not have to worry about kids work being "online"

Lets you mix Activclassroom with classblogs, forums, tasks, activities, etc. and would really make a laptop suite or trolley come to life.

An update lets you drag and drop content to it such as flipcharts.

Made by ASPEN - Called OpenClassroom..... They have a desktop version (below) for small schools/classrooms and a rack mount version for schools with Server racks.

This is amazing.
As always Mark finds the most amazing and important things just at the right moment.
This Moodle in the box is like the IP based phone Vonage..just plug and play.
This could be a huge help for schools wanting to roll out Moodle in a hurry[clap][clap]
