Let's compare notes and flipcharts related to student project-based learning using ActivStudio. What are we doing to empower students to recreate the lesson or to teach a concept to their peers using ActivStudio? Is anyone having students present and podcast lessons using the flipchart recorder to make a movie and a converter like VideoRA or iSquint? This might be a place to chat about the possibilities!?!

I was working with a group of 5th Grade students and their teacher in Massachusetts to day and asked them, if they could podcast it... what would be their message to the world? Wheels are turning! And they actually trained very quickly mastering in an hour...what most adults take a full day to learn in a training session!!

Please post...

It just so happens ;) that I have been working on a template for teachers who want involve their students with a Problem-Based Learning exercise and use Activstudio as the presentation medium. If you are one of these teachers, feel free to download the template and use it in your classoom.

I am also working on a flipchart tutorial for students so that they can experiment with the tools and "tricks" that make flipcharts more engaging and....well, cool. I will try to finish this soon so that all of you 21st century-thinking teachers who really want to prepare your students for the technology-infused working world can give your students a boost. And don't forget that students can download a version of the software just for them on their home computers (as long as we can verify that they are attending a school using Promethean technology) so that they can practice or create at home.
Here's the link..http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=nav.15768 which you will probably have to copy and paste into your URL address window.

I am hoping that as an end result we will have more student-created flipcharts uploaded to Promethean Planet. Teachers should submit one flipchart per class. It probably would be a good idea to use some identifying keywords, like STUDENT-CREATED, MR. DANIEL'S CLASS, etc. Maybe we could even have a contest to encourage everyone to submit their students' flipcharts!

Let me know what you think and/or how we can keep this project alive!

Great! Thanks Leslie!

This detailed lesson plan will certainly provide a fantastic structure for a project-based unit!

Is anyone else inspired to let the students create and present to one another for 21st century skills? Please share your ideas on this thread!

Hi All,
I work with Nick (and Kathy!) in Sudbury and am happy to help support any of our teachers with this or any other Activ project! Leslie, I look forward to that student-centered flipchart to assist them in getting comfortable with the tools!

Leslie,

AMAZING flipchart! I can't wait to see all the different projects that people come up with up! Also, if anyone uses the "Understanding by Design" structure for their curriculum, the project/end task would integrate perfectly into this structure!
