We have been using Activote sytems for a couple of years now in my school, but yesterday I went to a different school to help/advise them about their use to find that the registration system etc. had changed completely. Is ther somewhere that I can find out about all these changes (why for example do they now need a separate hub?). As we still have the old units etc. I can't explore this for myself. I just need a summary of what has changed and how to adapt to the differences.

if there's an article somewhere a link would be fine.

Hi
You are right it has changed - we released the version you are referring to 12 months ago.
The reason for the change is that we have moved the technology to work on a 2.4 radio frequency. Working with the hub that you described this enables a greater range (75metres) and more devices (now 500 opposed to 64).
There is a video showing how to set up the device registration that was found through the product page for Activote but unfortunately I think in a recent update the link has been lost!:(
Let me investigate and get back to you, but panic not it is straight forward. I'd suggest before anything else you check that you have the latest software and drivers in place (both can be found in the support sections on Planet). Another thing to remember is plug your hub in and wait for the green light BEFORE you open the software.
Trust me the changes were made for the better!

Thanks for this Emma. It isn't actually my school (we still have the older style), I was just taken aback when I went in to support another school and came across this new system. I'll let them know what you have said above and watch the video when it resurfaces.

Hi Dave
The school should have got a Quick Start Guide or something similar with their new Activotes.

They may well have done..I didn't get much of a chance to check. I've mentioned this thread to them so they may even pop in and comment.

I'm sure we could get them another copy if necessary.

The video will be back shortly apparently - I went and asked, just got pulled in the reorg of site. Sorry for the delay!
