Hi guys,
I joined the site due to my role at a college for people with learning difficulties. Not been doing this long and promethean takes a fair bit of getting used to. One thing I keep getting asked for by tutors is a classroom register that can be interactive. Has anyone come across any such thing as I can't find a template or anything on here.+wave+
Thanks Gavin

Hi I don't have a perfect solution. But things I'm trying that might be useful..(or not as the case may be)
1) I've got a seating plan with pupils names on the whiteboard - pupils can tick off their names as they come in (or with some classes I'll tick them off). It gets them using the pen and they seem to like that. I then transcribe attendance to my main spreadsheet later (not quite what you're looking for probably). I could make this slightly more interactive by changing their names to action objects that moved backwards to reveal a tick, or append text perhaps when clicked
I could (but don't at present) just have a saved page (maybe a list of names in a grid) that I could save (when ticked) every lesson and add to the next lessons flipchart - still not that automatic if you need to be able to export a list of names.
2) If you embed a link to a suitable spreadsheet on your flipchart - then when you get to the register you tap on that, it will come up on the screen and you can take it, close spreadsheet and then close it. (haven't double checked this will work - think it will)
3) Similar to option 2 (havne't double checked this will work - but should do if the browser can handle the page) embed a URL link to one of the online office applications such as Zoho (http://www.zoho.com/) or Google Docs that are free - put your spreadsheet on these and you should be able to bring it up in the web browser. The advantage over (2) might be that you are only then have to work with the flipchart - as long as yo u are online the docs are available.
Wouldn't it be nice if you could embed some files as placeholders and then work on them further in place
Hope this is useful
Hi Gavin,
There is a great Classroom Management Resource Pack that has some designed pages for registration that you can alter for your own class. It can be found here http://www.prometheanplanet.com/server.php?show=ConResource.11650.

We used to have an optically read register. To Encourage self registration ( and make sure everyone was switched on) I used to use an overhead plan of the class with the tables colour coded by group. The children's photos were imported in through the resource library and placed in the world just outside the flipchart page. As the children came in they dragged their photo to their seat. By the time everyone was seated on the carpet I could glance at the board and simply mark absent the people whose photos were still in the world. Pres the reset button to default the page for the next day.
I have attached a flipchart page. Experiment with page scale to find the kids.
