I should know this, but don't and can't find the answer. I am teaching classes on the activboard. I was asked how many tools can be put in the main toolbox? I thought you could put 12 in the quick select toolbox, but was not sure about the main toolbox. Can someone let me know how many can be put in the maintoolbox? Thank you so very much.

I'm not sure but I know I have seen some teachers put additional tools in the flipchart tool bar as well. (The one that typically has the next page icons. Some folks prefer tools there because it make the main floating one smaller and when "rolled" up they can still access certain tools.

I believe that you can put as many tools as the screen size can hold.

Question for you, Louise.
Will the machine slow down noticeably when we add more tools to the toolbox?
What will be you safe number of tools on the toolbox?
Since we had a number of patches had apply to the Activstudio and Activprimary, had the number of tools that crashed the system remain?
Don't crack you brain for it, if you don't have the answer. Of course, it is meant for my knowledge and add to my confident level.

To be honest its not something I've checked on the latest version so the amount might have changed, but I wouldn't have thought by much. As far as I can remember adding lots of tools didn't affect performance - I think it would affect the performance of the user before the performance of the pc, trying to find the tool they wanted from a huge toolbox!!

It begs the question why you might want so many tools on the main toolbox. I would think that the main toolbox is for tools used everyday or at least, very frequently. Anything else can be added or removed as necessary. It would be poor practivce to have a very long toolbar with every conceivable tool on it. But that's my personal view!

I agree with David.
It is also a great time to talk about saving toolbars. There is an Activtip on this topic, but this is a great way for you to have customized toolbars for all your lessons!
