lightning protection?

Hi,
Does anyone know what the most efficient way to protect the board system against lightning is?
I´ve been asking several people but nobody seems to have " the answer" . Does Promethean have any guidelines regarding this issue?

I would imagine it would be the same for any electronic equipment and not specifically Activboard-related.

An interactive whiteboard can´t be compared to a blender or a toaster when It comes to safety measures as pointed out in my last thread. I just asked that ´cause anyone might be having the same concern.

Treat it like anything else electronic... There is nothing specifically needed with regard to the Activboard that I am aware of - but I will look into it.

The power supply and USB connections are the same as any other peripheral device. So if you have a concern in a close storm - unplug it from the wall along with the PC, TV and any other electronics you are concerned with.

Generally surge protection devices aim to prevent damage to any electronic devices via the powerlines...

Are you in a particularly storm prone area?

You´ve just mentioned ' surge protection devices" . I guess I haven´t got it through to you. I know that, from the electric point of view, the board can be treated the same way. But, if my toaster or my blender get damaged I can afford to buy or fix it. But I don´t have US 2.500 to buy a board everytime a storm reaches my place.
You´ve got your point when said I could unplug it from the wall.... But what if there was a "surge protection device" or whatever the name is, which could stand such threat...without making me interrupt my class. You . nou, know what I mean?

A storm could knock out power completely...

Usual policy is to unplug all sensitive electronics... TVs, PCs, etc. in a localised electrical storm.

Suggest the question is one for your facilities staff.
