I am trying to register new Activote 2.4 GHz to the Activhub but the number that I have registered is always different than what the device has the label on it. For example, the device label shown on it is A001 and I registered it first but when I try to see the device and it goes to Number #4.
I checked the thread but i cannot find the solution. If I cannot offer the solutiton to the customer then they will give the products back to us. Please help.
Thanks

Fahri,
Did you name the votes after registering them?

The first column in the registration window that numbers the devices upwards from 1 just tells you how many devices you have. This is not the name of the device. To name the device you need to go through the naming process in which you need to press a button on each device. Then check your labels are correct. You can use the test button to check the names of the devices. If your labels are wrong to can name the devices individually to match the labels.

If you are on a PC, you will find the attached document helpful when registering the new 2.4ghz Activotes in order.
I have used it and it worked great!
Thanks,

Karen, I have a few concerns about this document, though if you say you have used it successfully why should I worry!
The beauty of the new system is that you can register all of the devices together, you don't need to do them one at a time, so it is much quicker.
The document suggests labelling the devices first then go on to register them in the order of the labels. The problem with this is that the order in which you register them has no bearing on the order in which they will end up on the system. So you can label them 1-10 and register them in that order but when you come to name them they will not be in that order.
Just to give you a bit more info - please disregard if too much detail!
If you register three votes labelled Bob, Ann, Joe in that order they will be listed as device 1 Bob, device 2 Ann, device 3 Joe. If you then go and vote then go back into the registration window they will be listed in alphabetical order: device 1 Ann, device 2 Bob, device 3 Joe. So you cannot rely on that number in the 'Device' column, it just tells you how many you have.
It would be better for the new votes to simply disregard the column labelled 'Device'.
What I would suggest is:
Register the devices all together.
Name all the devices together.
Use the test button to find out what name each device has and give it the corresponding label.
If you have already labelled the devices and want to name them according to their label:
Use 'test' to find out where each device is in the list.
Enter the correct name in the 'Device Name' column for each device.
Then press 'Name' and press a button for each device to get its name.
I hope this is useful as I am going from memory. I'm sure Emma will pitch in if I've got something wrong!
