I have a database of my different classes set up so that I can have my students allocate their Activotes as they come into the classroom so they are ready to start with the bell. I then remove the devices that have not been allocated.
If I then have a student come in late I either have a student with no device or i have to re-allocate all the Activotes.
My question: is there a way to add just one (or two) people without having to allocate all the devices again? Thanks

I believe that if you use the option of allocating the device with the three letter PIN then you cannot add latecomers. If you have the new 2.4GHz system you can use the other option where your devices are labelled and you give out specific devices to students. Then you get the option to mark a student absent. If they turn up late you can untick the absent box and they can join the session. This is my understanding, but I'm sure an 'expert' will be along if I'm wrong!
I think you are right Lee.
Have you or Promethean thought about approaching this in a different way as the software and hardware evolves over the next few years?
The idea would be to generate a unique session ID for each voting session. Qwizdom uses this approach and works well. In this case what happens is that you load the class list. This generates a unique RF session ID. Then users see a "Please login" message on the screen. The user then enters their student ID. If the student ID matches the class list, it allows the student to join the activity.

A good suggestion Guatam, but would be too difficult for our Foundation Stage to do. They're only 3-5 years old. I love the fact that the votes are so simple to register and I wouldn't want that changed!+wave+
Hi Allison,
It would be a choice. Just like there is a choice of either running the session in "named" or "anonymous" mode, the idea is of being able to run it exactly like now and to have an option where the user has to punch in login ID to enter the session.
What this would allow is for teachers not to have to worry about marking students absent before a session starts and the ability for late student to jump in the activity anytime.
