I am not sure if this is the right area to post this, but I am sure someone will let me know if it is not.
I have a friend who has a number of unpublished books which they are looking for someone to collaborate with. They have been gathering dust on their hard drive because what they need is an illustrator and she has two thoughts on this. Perhaps there is some budding talent at your school or college who might be interested in getting a leg-up into the world of graphics/publishing, or maybe you would like to set this as an art course project?
The books fall into two categories: -
Pre School/Junior - which include Dennis the Drain Who Didin't Like Rain - The Sad King, The Great Race, The Proud Oak - these are poem/stories which would benefit from large colourful drawings. Each book has a moral tale.
Year 5-Year 8 - include titles such as The Enchanted Stream, Fallen Heroes, The Amazing Dorothy Wrinkleson, Slippery Sid the Cat Burgular, Charlie the Tennage Detective and The Cat Behind the Curtain. Once again, appropriate illustrations would add greatly to the content, but in addition, each of these has a glossary which explains and expands on the story. For instance when waterfalls are mentioned, she plans that the word is in bold which would let the reader know that they can find out more at the back of the book - for instance, the highest, widest, largest volume of water, how they are formed, etc.
If anyone is interested or knows someone that might be, we would love to hear from you.
