Hello!
Is is possible to save a background from the resource library onto the tool strip. I have a math teacher who loves the coordinated planes and wants to save a few on her tool strip. When I drag it over, it doesn't drop. I know with images, I can easily drag them over. Can this be done?
Thank you,
Heather

I don't know of a way. Sorry. You could take a capture of the page with the camera and put those results on the toolbar as an image.
Only thing I can think of.

I tried to do this on both the PC and the Mac. Like Lisa said, I doesn't appear to work on the PC. It does on the Mac though. You can drag the resource from a Finder window on to the Shortcut Bar. If you click on it, it opens, and you have the option to add it to the page. This also works for grids. II used this method to store a 1 x 1 grid (which I use all the time) on my Shortcut bar.
I know this is the PC forum, but some Mac users may also read it occasionally .... :D:D:D

I remember putting backgrounds into the "My Backgrounds" folder of My Resource Library... This made it a little easier to find if I needed it on the fly...

On the PC, I would take a picture of it with the camera tool like Lisa suggested, then I would drag it out and then Right click > Edit > Layer > Lock on Background to make the picture a background.
This way it is a picture that can be stored in your toolbar, but can be made a background with the Right Click trick.

Not a perfect solution, but try this...
- Create a flipchart containing only your background.
- Save this page in the My Flipchart Pages of the Resource Library.
- Close the flipchart.
- Use Windows Explorer to browse to My Flipchart Pages.
- Drag the saved page from Explorer onto the third column of your main Toolbox. (ie the Shortcut bar). It will then be added to the Toolbox using the icon of a flipchart page.
Now whenever you click on this icon on the Toolbox, the page will be inserted into any currently open flipchart.
If you right click on this new Toolbox icon, you can provide it with a short Tooltip to remind you of what the page contains.
Remember the page will be inserted into the currently open flipchart at the position immediately BEFORE the current page.

Backgrounds are driving me nutty.
I have downloaded from a website that I pay for (www.animfactory.com) hundreds of backgrounds that are themed, so I have a set of 3 - 4 similar backgrounds that make for a nice presentation... great except that when I switch to go get a resource I lose my place for backgrounds and have to scroll down to find them again... aaarrrgggghhhh.
It seems so obvious to have the resources you are using to build a flipchart in one place so you don't have to keep going back and forth scrolling for the same thing over and over again. BACKGROUNDS SHOULD BE ABLE TO GO TO THE 3rd COLUMN!
I need an easy solution since I use a different background everyday! HELP HELP HELP!

Did you know the Shared Collections folders can hold all the resources types including backgrounds?
If you are working with themed resources, you might want to make some new folders in Shared Collections and place your themed resources in them, eg imge objects, backgrounds, etc. This might help to reduce the amount of time you find yourself switching between folders and scrolling.
Another possibility is to give your themed backgrounds the same keyword when you add them to the library. Then you could quickly find all the things you want using the Quick Search function.
I'm afraid that currently the only way to add backgrounds to the third column is as described in my previous post.
