Am I correct in remembering that there is no way to change the shadow color in Activstudio?

I sure hope I'm wrong... I want black text with a lighter shadow without creating two text boxes.

Unfortunately I think you are correct.
Possible work around: If you type out the text, duplicate, select both and align (right click>edit>align), then select one and then use arrows to move it over and down. If you then group them they will be like one...
Good luck

JEN GEN - You're not supposed to read this ;) Wow... world wide web, and I get a response from eight miles away.

Sometimes it is just as effective to stand outside and yell...
But I digress!
I have just been playing with Tickertapes - I paused the tickertape and used the Camera Tool to capture the text with the drop shadow and paste it to the same flipchart page ( thinking about your request)
Now it gets REALLY interesting - the tickertape has now been replaced by a line of text that I can slide left and right AND it continues onto all the pages in the flipchart.
In Page Organiser view the 'banner' shows as one item over all the thumbnails.

Now to think of some cool ways to use this! [clap]
AND by clicking on Power Tools I managed to have that 'banner' floating over the top of my web browser with the text still able to be moved sideways..
.
Now I can either move the text sideways OR double-click on the banner to start it scrolling or to pause it.

All this is much more fun than work!

Jen - I like that idea. I have done that many times before with text and with shadow boxes/lines.

Oh, trust me, I get how to use multiple text boxes (or images to create shadows and layering). I would just love some more shadow options built in. I guess I'll post that in V.4 requests.

Actually, there IS an option to create drop shadow in the text edit menu - S for Shadow...
Hadn't spotted that before, then got sidetracked playing with tickertapes.
Still not sure how to select the shadow colour, but at least it is there now.

Jen,

I love the idea you posted, but I would love to actually see an example. Wanna post something you did like that (in flipchart, so I can deconstruct and make sure I understand how you did it...even though your directions seem to make sense now, they won't when I go to make my own).

Here's a flipchart with some shadow samples.

THANKS, SEAN! I think I get it now! All about duplicating and aligning things. Rock on. Learning something new everyday makes me happy!
