Whenever I make a flipchart from home, the background is there with bars at the top and bottom. Does anyone know why?? I have attached an example. Thanks!!

Hi

This is due to the screen resolution (screen size) being different between your home computer and your school computer. These borders are known as the 'world'! Its an area around the flipchart page where you can store objects that you may not wish the user to see.

If this bothers you that they are present, then you can change the page scale using the s at the top right of the flipchart page. This will load the page scale dialog that will then allow you to select 'Height Fit'. This should change the flipchart proportions to fill the screen. If the 's' isnt present, not to worry, it just means that the flipchart mode is set to Windows mode. Change this from windows to Activstudio mode by selecting Customise -> Flipchart Mode -> Standard Activstudio. This should change the window, and make the options for Page Scale (s), Page Notes (n) and Arrange Windows (a) appear. You can select the Page scale option as directed above.

If you then save the flipchart, it should save the Page scale setting. Just checked this on 3.6 and it works fine, so you will only have to change the scale option once per flipchart :)

I hope this helps

I had that issue, too.

To eliminate this, I now have my flipchart "standard" size pre-set to 1024 x 768. As my computer is "wide-screen" it now shows the blue bar (world) on the left and right sides, but I am ensured that it will show up correctly when it is being used on the Activboard.

You can set your Activstudio "preferences" to have the default page size to the size that best fits your Activboard (which is typically 1024 x 768.)

I concur with Lisa that changing your resolution to 1024 x 768 is the thing to do.

You will have larger bars when you are on your home computer, but that is fine You want it without the bars when you are hooked up to a projector.
