Computer freezes while re-indexing after downloading resource pack

I just downloaded the action objects resource pack. When it asks to re-index shared library, I check yes and the computer then freezes.

Question 1 - any ideas on why this is happening and how to fix it?

Question 2 - what does re-indexing mean? I could find some of the objects that were in this file. I think there was supposed to be a flipchart also that can't find. Could just be I don't know where to look or is that part of the re-indexing issue?

Hello Chris,

First please update to version 3.614 or to the newest version 3.7.18. Maybe this could solve the re-indexing issue. Do you run an older version of studio then 3.6.14?

Second. Re-indexing means that activstudio update the index of the shared or private resources, to show them correctly in the resource library. This re-indexing should be done, if you install resource packs or move many existing files to other folders.

This can happen if there are filenames with 'forbidden' characters - probably not in the downloaded Resource Pack, but possibly something you may have saved into your Library some other time?

Do you means that you saw an hourglass and it take forever to finish? If yes, it is normal. As re-indexing do take a bit of time. Best part, it does not stated what it is doing from time to time. In the past, I thought it is freezes too. :rolleyes:

That was it - I had no patience!! Actually, it would look like nothing was happening and I'd try to click out of the screen and that's when it froze. I now have my hiding things resources indexed! Thanks.
