My pen won't 'flow' properly

Hi

I'm using ActivStudio2 PE on a PC running XP. I have an intermittant fault which is infuriating. At times, all is well and I can write fluidly on the board without problems. However, without warning the pen can start to falter, and miss bits out so my writing is hard to read and the pupils get frustrated. I have to keep going over bits of it again to make it legible.

what is happening? I also at times open PowerPoint and write on those with the pen, is this having an issue? I'm not running loads of programs but do I need to free up memory or something. I've even tried rebooting the computer to no avail. Help!

Technology is great, except when it doesn't work...

I would try to upgrade to Activstudio 3.7 and see if that helps.

This may be a silly suggestion, but this happened to me when my other pen was too close to the board. There was a pen hanging on a lanyard across the corner of my board and my board seemed possessed. Moved the pen... board worked! :)
