I was trying help a fellow teacher set up his Activboard which was just installed. I opened the program, then attempted to customize his main toolbar. When I clicked on the main menu and hit "customize toolbar", the toolstore and poser tools toolbar opened, but the main toolbar disappeared. It happened every time we tried, so there is no way I could add tools to his toolbar.
Any suggestions?

My first suggestion is to check and make sure you have the newest software. What software version are you using and what is your platform? Windows? Vista? This will help for anyone making a suggestion... I could be way off, but I think this was a problem with the software a few versions back - so check your software versions and do any updating possible and then make another attempt. :o

Thanks for the response. We have requested a reinstall of the software along with the resources that were not previously installed. It is a Windows XP platform, and i believe the latest version was installed; but I'll make sure.
Another question. Why when I develop a flipchart on my laptop and then transfer it to my deskto (which I use at school), does an unusable wide black band appear on the top and bottom of the flipchart?

That is likely because you are developing your flipcharts on a "wide-screen" computer and then showing them on an Activboard displaying 1024x768.
I have set my software to automatically create new flipcharts using 1024 x 768 so that when they are used on a standard-sized Activboard, this doesn't happen. (FYI, the "bands" will show on the left and right sides during development but should show correctly when connected to an Activboard.)
See attached screenshot for my "preferences" settings. (This is a Mac screenshot. The PC can do the same thing but I think it is called "settings" instead.
Alternatively, when you create a new flipchart, choose 1024 x 768 from the menu. (I kept forgetting so that is why I just changed my default settings.)
