Foreign language characters & font

Is there a way to insert foreign language characters in the font being used? All mine appear in Arial whatever font I have been using.

Bring up the software's on-screen keyboard. The Symbols button provides the opportunity to insert foreign languages characters into any text object.

And make sure you select the font in the menu if you are using the Recognition tool, or if you are using the Text Edit menu...
Otherwise it will simply use the last font you selected.
