If you haven't visited the Themes section of Planet this month, you may not know that we have TWO Shakespeare Themes!!!

The first one is Manga Shakespeare

This Theme draws it inspiration from trend-setting Japan and uses Shakespeare's original texts. You'll find this series brings to life Shakespeare's words for students, Shakespeare enthusiasts and manga fans. You'll find example Manga Shakespeare flipcharts plus a new Romeo and Juliet Manga Shakespeare Resource Pack.

The second one is Shakespeare.

The second Shakespeare theme is along more traditional lines and includes easy access to Shakespeare flipcharts, ideas for lesson development and delivery and other interesting Resource Packs.

If you teach Shakespeare (and especially Romeo and Juliet), these two themes are a MUST!

Check them both out!

A double Shakespeare treat for Planet members this month! As Lisa has commented, we're working with Manga Shakespeare to provide an innovative and alternative way of teaching Shakespeare adapted for the whiteboard, but we've also provided a selection of traditional Shakespeare teaching resources as well.

It would be interesting to hear from members what your opinions are on the traditional vs the contemporary, considering the stark differences in the content and particularly the images. Would you prepare a Shakespeare lesson for your pupils using manga or would you stick to the traditional teaching?

From a teacher of 10 and 11 year old's perspective, the ability to compare and contrast is fantastic - I thik these resources are superb. And then the possibilities of combining the 2 - traditional character in Manga settings and vice versa - really exciting. Thanks Promethean!!
