I am making a fall attendance flipchart. The kids will drag a leaf that has their name on it to a tree. How do I get the name to stay on the leaf so that the leaf can be dragged to the tree? I was able to do it with one, but not the others. I double-clicked no the leaf, went to properties, and checked off the box for "grouped." That option is not coming up with any other leaf. What am I doing wrong?

Holding down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and then progressively clicking separate objects allows one to select multiple objects at once (for grouping/moving etc). In your case, try clicking a leaf, hold down Ctrl and then click a name. If you have the latest software version (or relatively new software), a little jigsaw piece should appear under the dotted rectangle that bounds the 2 objects. Clicking the jigsaw icon should group/ungroup your objects.

Alternatively, place your text over the leaf and 'drag' over them both which will select them both, then click the jigsaw icon.

I would also check out the Activtips as many of them deal with grouping objects and how to do it. Look for the one that has jellybeans and a castle. It goes over the same topic you are asking about.
