I am looking for suggestions for getting started. I have had one day of training but now as I try to start preparing for my first grade students, I am overwheled. I can't seem to remember anything. Any suggestion would be helpful.
Thanks
Hiya and welcome to the forum!
I would start by using the resource library or simple text activities.
1) Drag and drop some images onto a page and ask students to make up sentences using as many of the objects as you can.
2) Write in red on a red background and then simply change the background colour using the fill tool to reveal text. This works well with questions if the answers are in the same colour as the background.
3) If you're still stuck then download a few of the flipcharts on planet for some more ideas!!
Good luck and let us know how you get on!!

A great way to review what you learned is by taking the Activstudio Level 1 Foundation Course. It's FREE and I think it really covers the basics quite well. You can do it a bit at a time if you want and can jump around to whatever your interest is! (It's self-paced!) And when you finish, you get a nice certificate!

Definately take the Level 1 class. I still go back and review sections when I forget how to do something. Also, check out the Activtips on iTunes or under Professional Development, Tips & Tricks. They are also wonderful. Take your time and learn with your students as you go! Use your imagination, I've found that anything is possible with my Activboard! [clap]

Also, look at some of the flipcharts that have been done already. If you choose to use one of these, most of them have some directions on how to use the tools and features right on the pages. This is a great way to get started. You were luckier then me by having one day of training, but just remember to use it every day, and as you do, you learn to discover new tools and new ideas to use the board. :p
