Resource Packs

I am having difficulty downloading resource packs from Promethean website. No trouble at all with flipcharts but the resource packs appear to download but won't open. I selected "reindex" and wait and wait but then my software shuts down. Am I missing something? We didn't really work on this aspect in my training. Help me, please.

Hi,
It is supposed to shutdown when reindexing done.
Simply launch Activstudio again. You should be able to see the new resource now.

Thanks, sasha but I am still having the same problem. When I reopen the resource pack I get the same reindex question and it still shuts down after saying it is building a tree.

Gautam is right it should shut down after the resource loads if you do it by just double clicking in the downloaded pack. If you want to software to stay open so you can see where it went (by looking at the tree it built) then you will need to load the the resource pack through the dashboard. Either way the resources go where they were listed on the bottom of the download page. Just go into the resource library and the new items should be in place.

Try to say "No" when it asks you if you want to reindex.
I think you are in a vicious loop and you just need to get out of it.
No harm will be done if you say "no" to reindex.

Curious... .is anyone else having trouble with seeing ALL the resource packs? I used to have an option to turn the page and view thumbnails of all of them - where's the page turner???

Under Recent Recourse Packs, I used to be able to turn the pages and see ALL the packs. Now I only see 1 page?? Where can I see ALL of them?

Question: Is anyone having trouble visiting the home page of Promethean Planet/World. I have been trying all weekend. It will not come up. I started using this site about 2 months ago and this is the first time I have had any problems? I cannot view anything other than the forum and the site with the on-line tutorials. PLEASE HELP!

You may have a corrupt cookie for our site - please try locating all promethean cookies and simply delete them - alternatively use your browsers delete all cookies command.

Then close your browser and try again to access the site - let me know if this work for you.

Hello Karen.

You should still be able to see all the resource packs. If you select 'resource packs' and click 'search' it now brings up all resource packs that are tagged to your country - you can now also select 'date' to search by most recent. However, if you want to also view the UK & International resource packs, simply go into the 'advanced search' function and change your country to 'UK'. Unfortunately, only UK and US have the advanced search function at the minute...but it is coming to International members soon!

A handy tip for finding where resource packs have been saved to in your resource library is to make a note of the path listed in the resource pack page. For each resource pack there is almost certainly a mention of the location for where you can find the pack e.g. Shared collections > history > etc

In the near future we will be creating all resource packs, US and UK/International, to download to one place, which members can then move to a location of their choice.

You are correct the ability to move to next page on recent resources has gone astray - we are looking at the issue and a fix will be applied as soon as we can identify the cause.

I had this problem last weekend. The planet is my homepage and it would not display at all. At first I thought there was some repair work going on, but when I got e-mail alerts from the forum posts I realised that others were on. I "googled" promethean planet and followed that link (which opened perfectly) and reset my home page. Everything has workd since!

P.S. When you open a section on the forum e'g' hot topics you will see a button on the top left of the threads within that forum for "New Thread"

I've been trying to access Promethean Planet's Home page for about an hour. I've cleared all cookies in Firefox and IE7. Closed the browsers and tried again with both. Promethean Plant's Home page will not load. I can get to the Forum and the Blog, but when I click on the Home link, the page will not load.

Is there anything else I should try?

I have been having the same problem all weekend. I can get into the forum but not the resources through google.

I too had MAJOR problems :mad: :( this weekend accessing the Resources page and just saw on a PC thread, (http://www.Prometheanplanet.com/forum/showthread.php?p=37609#post37609) to delete the cookies. It helped on Firefox but I had to try it more than one time on another Browser (Safari). Glad to be able to see the Resources again. Thanks to Cliff Farrand for recommending deleting the cookies. Glad to hear that the page turners are on their way back (as soon as you find them!!).

I like being able to see the list of all the Resource Packs, as well as Featured Lessons/Fliphcharts. I was in West Texas today trying to show teachers Planet and we couldn't turn the pages!!

I see that someone else has, or had, the problem I am having. I download resource packs from the website, and when I go to Activesource manager I see them listed and can view them. However, when I go into a flipchart and try to locate them through the Library they are not listed ANYWHERE! I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong - can anyone help????

Have you restarted studio since the addition? I forget about that sometimes and they don't show in the library until restart.
